Netgear Router IP Address – How to Access It

Now if you own a Netgear wireless router, you may want to know what your Netgear wireless router IP address is. In many cases the Netgear router IP address is usually 192.168.0.1. Typing this address, with http:// in front of it, in the address bar of your chosen browser will grant you access to your Netgear router set-up page.
However, if your ISP gave you a wireless router it is possible that that the IP of the router is different. Below you will find steps on how to find it:
For Windows Vista/Windows 7:
For Windows Vista or Windows 7 users the procedure is as follows:
1. Click the START button of your computer. A menu window will pop up; at the bottom you will find the Search program and files box (see picture on the left). Type in that box cmd and hit ENTER. A command prompt is going to pop-up.
2. The window of this command prompt is black. You will then see the following: C:\Users\Personal>. Right beside that will be a blinking cursor. Type in ipconfig and then click ENTER.
3. A lot of things will be happening by this time. Disregard everything and look for Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :________ (the blank space represents a series of numbers. That is the Netgear router IP address.
For Windows XP:
If you have Windows XP installed on your machine slick on START button and then RUN. Type cmd and after that press ENTER. The command prompt is going to pop-up. Follow instruction #1 through #3 as for Vista and Win7.
For MacOS X:
1. Click on SYSTEM PREFERENCES in the Apple menu.
2. In the Internet & Network section locate the NETWORK icon.
3. When the network panel opens you will see a menu beside SHOW (under “Location”). In the dropdown menu, click and choose the preferred network connection.
4. Click on the ADVANCED, and the TCP/IP tab will open.
5. Next to ROUTER, you will find the IP address of your wireless router.
